One cannot profess a belief in something one cannot define. Being unable to define what you give a name to makes your belief irrational. Likewise, a thing cannot be defined differently from one time to another. Any definition of a real “thing” cannot change between people or over time. We cannot in the name of being tolerant or “catholic” ascribe mutually exclusive attributes to a thing, and allow us to proclaim ourselves to be correct. If we are to believe in a single, universal reality, we cannot accept personally derived definitions of it. This is not a problem with reality; this is a problem with knowledge and understanding, and often communication. As Ayn Rand would say, “A is A”.
Islam appears to possess this characteristic of ambiguity and internal inconsistency. Some claim it is peaceful. Others say it is hateful and violent. Both characterizations cannot be correct.
What is of overriding importance then, is not to listen to the laments of such as Tashbih Sayyed, who cannot fathom why the non-Muslim world would cast a suspicious eye on Islam. It is also not important to simply believe that Islam is unjust, cruel, or abhorrent without a realistic basis. What is critical is to determine what Islam is. Once we know what Islam is, because of the magnitude of its presence in this world, we must judge it against a standard of morality. Either Islam should stand as a truly peaceful and just religion, and all false interpretations can be cast out as heresy, and all true Muslims can join the fight against the heretics who defile the name of Islam with invocations to violence, or Islam must be known by all concerned, intelligent people to be an abomination. Perhaps the truth is a little of both, but we must know, or all arguments and conflicts become arbitrary exercises in nonsense.
Some people believe what they are told about a religion. They derive their “knowledge” from hearsay. Because religions are complex and take time to understand, learning from others is how most people gain knowledge about a faith. But this method is subject to tremendous errors in understanding. How do you know for sure that what you are being told is reasonable or true? We need more.
Some believe a religion is what the majority, or plurality, or consensus of its practitioners believe it to be. This is the participatory democracy theory of religious expression. But this must necessarily not be correct, for that model of reality renders the creed subject to personalization and variation over time, and that is irrational. As pointed out above, the doctrine cannot change without a specific, clear process for change (in orthodoxy). Either people can find an error in their interpretation of it, or they can shift away from it and establish an alternative religion, sect, or denomination. But we cannot look to an average of all opinions about a religion and be certain that a commonly peaceful religion wouldn’t turn around and become viciously sadistic. We need more.
Some people believe that all religions are man-made institution, and as such are capable of transitioning through a historical process of continuous enlightenment. This is the evolution theory of religious definition. It assumes that in their dark, formative years, all religions are based on the norms for those relatively uncivilized folks, and as secular civilization advances, the religion is upgraded to keep up. Thus any religion can, given enough time, evolve into something mature and tolerant. This notion cannot be accepted, as it only allows a definition of a religious doctrine to exist at a point in time, which upon sunset or daybreak could be interpreted differently to keep up with the events of the day. We need more.
Some people believe that a religion is what its practitioners do. This is the “walk the walk” theory of the definition of a religion. But we cannot look to a believer’s behavior to define the belief system that the agent (of the behavior) purports to represent. What if the agent is wrong? Then their behavior is not representative of the creed. Moreover, most religions represent ideals, and as most people realize, we (people) are not that good at living up to ideals. Religions are intended to be instructional, inspirational, and directional. That we cannot self-configure and self maintain the ideal state is the reason why we have religion to begin with. Looking at the behavior of people can never give you the true picture of their religion. We need more.
This is not to say that the behavior patterns of a large sample of professed believers in a religion (necessarily) do not represent the ethical basis for a religion. Likewise, the assertions of those who repute to adopt a religion may (but do not necessarily) represent some measure of truth about the religion itself. While the behavior of the believer does not guarantee knowledge of the religion, observed behavior could certainly give rise to a hypothesis about the definition of the religion. This is essentially a scientific problem, which can be tested. But science does not measure fantasies or subjective notions. It can only verify reality, otherwise science itself is a pointless exercise. A scientific method to determine the reality of a religion’s principles can use behavior patterns to design an experiment. But that experiment must measure something firm, something discoverable. Thus, the religion itself can only be defined by a single body of knowledge that all believers profess to accept.
The body of knowledge must be a preserved state of thinking from the originator(s) of the religion. It must be an intellectual property, which becomes the most reliable way to comprehend the nature of a religion. But what is the body of knowledge? And where is it? Knowledge must come through some kind of reliable, stable interface between your mind and an intellectual property that represents the truth of the religion. This interface is a medium where the “word” or the religion is documented and preserved. Fortunately, we have a reliable source of knowledge about Islam, which transcends common ideas, common behaviors, and common chit chat. It is a codex, a scripture. It is the Koran and the Hadith. While some apocrypha has crept into the body of Islamic scripture, there is a plain and accepted orthodoxy, that is fairly easy to determine in this, the world’s newest major religion.
So the question for rational thinkers is this: Is Islam a religion of peace, toleration, and forgiveness? Or is it a religion of violence, revenge, and coercion? Or is it a mix of both? Or is the religion truly ambiguous, so metaphorical that its meaning simply cannot be derived, rendering the whole doctrine an absurd fantasy? Is Islam immutable, or is it subject to change over time by a consensus of recursively enlightened representatives? In today’s repressive culture of bashing Christianity and embracing “alternative” religions, are we even allowed to ask such impolite things, or will a million Muslims riot in the streets because we dare to seek the truth?
Let’s find out. And when we do, we won’t have to worry about endless debates over whether or not the non-Muslim world has anything to fear from Islam’s encroachment. Each of the assertions below is testable and verifiable, and we should welcome the task of validating the truth about Islam. In fact, once validated, Islam can be compared with other religions in terms of its ethical essence, using similar processes to ascertain the truth about them.
Fact 1: Islam is a belief system established as a way to reject and detest Judaism and Christianity as being heresies against “true” Abrahamic faith in God, and as abominations to the Muslim god, Allah.
Therefore, Jews and Christians are necessarily subject to distaste, distrust, and ill judgment.
Fact 2: Islam calls for a lack of respect for, lack of forgiveness of, and institutionalized intolerance towards Jews and Christians.
Therefore, Jews and Christians cannot be considered co-equals or “sinners”, but as defilements, and obstacles to God’s will.
Fact 3: Islam empowers and urges believers to wage violent, physical struggle against Jews and Christians as well as “pagans”, until the world is under the political, military, and social authority of Islam. Muhammad led or participated in wars of overt aggression, and these wars were approved and urged by the Muslim god, Allah to save the world by establishing Islamic rule. Warriors for Allah are assured the highest benefits in heaven. (there is a notion of a “greater” Jihad, one of inner acceptance of Islam, but this notion is only applicable where Islam has already become supreme….meaning, after the world is brought under the control of Islam, the Muslims are free to continue a personal “struggle” against their natural urge to be free.
Therefore, there can be no lasting peace between non-Islamic and Islamic societies. Further, even after Muslims are defeated in war, as long as they retain their religious beliefs, they are actively encouraged to reinitiate war.
Fact 4: Islam allows those captured in wars of aggression (for the glory of Allah) to be killed and their possessions taken, and their women raped. Islam allows and encourages the wealth of non-Muslims to be usurped and shared with the Muslim church. Islam allows those resisting its supremacy to be taken as slaves in the new Islamic order that follows defeat of the infidels. Islam allows and encourages, but does not force those under Islamic rule to convert to Islam.
Therefore, losing a war with military forces under the banner of Islam is painful and costly. Further, Islam sanctions rape, murder, looting, slavery, discrimination against non-Muslims, and forced conversions.
Fact 5: Islam commands and prescribes many behaviors because either Muhammad commanded them (Koran), or Muhammad behaved according to them (Hadith). Muhammad’s commandments and behavioral examples are to be personally emulated or politically imposed upon Islamic society. There is little room in these commandments for interpretation or inconsistency. Many of these behavioral rules are codified in sharia law.
Therefore, Islam is intended to impose a strict theocracy via sharia upon all subjects within its authority. This authority (once Islam is supreme) permits official Islam to recognize alternate religions, but does not force them to do so. And, all non-converts must be taxed and may be enslaved by Muslims.
Fact 6: Islam can never be changed by reinterpretation, redefinition, or even formal abrogation. It can never be modified, ignored or abstracted. No subsequent or future prophets can succeed Muhammad’s authority. If you attempt to change the tenets of Islam as defined in the Koran, and as exemplified by Muhammad, you are an apostate, itself a crime punishable by death. Further, whenever the Koran is in conflict with itself (some passages contradict other passages), the latter passages always supercede the former (because the former passages are ipso facto Satanic verses).
Therefore, those who claim Islam can be defined by contemporary consensus or circumstances are wrong. Islam can never be considered to have changed in any context whatsoever. Further, where there are few, isolated examples of toleration and peacefulness in the Koran, these passages are rendered inoperative by any invocations to violence and intolerance that appear later. Muhammad’s actions and words right up until his death were clear indications of his intent to wage war on the non-converted world and to treat infidels in a discriminatory manner.
Fact 7: The figure and historic person of Muhammad (the prophet) may never be mocked, ridiculed or tormented. Those who engage in this conduct are subject to writs of assassination.
Therefore Muslims are empowered to murder those they accuse of mocking the prophet.
Fact 8: Women in Islam have dramatically lower rights than men. Men can marry several women, but women cannot marry several men. Punishments for crimes conducted by women are more severe than punishments for men who commit similar crimes. Rights of women in divorce or inheritance are lower than the rights of men. Women must be veiled, but not men. Women may be genitally mutilated, but not men.
Therefore, Islam is an institution of perpetual discrimination against women.
Fact 9: Muslims are encouraged to deceive and lie about their motives and tactics in their ongoing war with infidels.
Therefore, you cannot trust or believe a Muslim’s words or deeds.
Fact 10: Muslims are encouraged to not just wage war, but to terrorize the enemy into abandoning the will to resist the onslaught.
Therefore, terrorism is a tool and manifestation of orthodox Islam.
By these truths, plainly evident in numerous, unabrogated sections of Islamic scripture, Islam can be known. Those who uphold these tenets cannot be seen as extremists or deviants with regard to the doctrine of Islam. Those who practice these prescriptions are adhering to the fundamental, essence of the Islamic creed.
If this is not true, let a Muslim reveal scripture that contradicts these assertions, which conforms to the Islamic rules of abrogation. Once the truth about Islam is revealed, we may then judge the behavior of terrorists and Imams who preach their hate as being orthodox and conventional. We can no longer refer to them as “radical;” or “extreme”. Moreover, we can judge so-called moderate Muslims to be heretical and ignorant (or perhaps deceitful). The moderates can be dismissed from the entire debate.
Once we have established a truthful platform, we can begin to ask if Islam is in fact, per se, evil. To do this we must go through that difficult process of defining evil. If we cannot do this, we cannot arrive at any basis for studying or arguing ethics. We’d have to content ourselves with an arbitrary, capricious, fickle world of anything-goes. Fortunately, most people believe in some kind of absolute standard of ethics. We must then, measure Islam against that standard. We can certainly measure other Godly and Godless belief systems against the same standard and see how they come out. There are a lot of atheists, agnostics, and secularists, as well as a good many insecure Christians who would be very afraid to examine their own scriptural foundation for ethics, so they reflexively and unconsciously declare any judgment of Islam to be impolite. But they are wrong.
Society must not refuse to protect itself and accept any wolf that arrives in sheep’s clothing.
We must know the truth about Islam.

In my first essay, titled, The truth About Islam, I said, “I would be happy to supply scriptural evidence for these facts about Islam to justify this definition of Islam. I would welcome an equivalent process to analyze Christianity”. Not unexpectedly, many people have asked me to supply Koranic or Hadithic verses to give evidence to my claims about the nature of true Islam, and why it really is an evil and terrorist religion.
In my first essay, I outlined ten disturbing facts that constitute the core of Islam. These are not the so-called “five pillars” of Islam, which are not pillars at all, and which do not distinguish Islam from many other philosophies or religions, and which assert only weak liturgical requirements. The real foundation of Islam is embodied in the ten principles I outlined. We shall address them incrementally because there are many citations to prove my argument. It is very important to understand that if a contradictory passage can be found in the Koran, by Law it is abrogated if it occurs earlier in the text, according to the rules of the Satanic verses, a rule established by Muhammad. To wit:
“Never did We send a messenger or a prophet before thee (Muhammad), but, when he framed a desire (in prophesy), Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs (Via Muhammad, the final prophet): for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.” Koran 22.052
“This part of the Qur'an is addressed to Muhammad to comfort him by reminding him of the prophets who were before him.” “The events that lay behind this verse are well recorded and accepted as authentic by the early Islamic scholars Ibn Ishaq, Wakidi, Ibn Sa'd, and Tabari.”
“In the Koran, Sura 53:19 says 'Have you considered al Lat and al-Uzza and Manat the third other?' This passage was originally followed by the words 'Verily they are the exalted maidens and their intercession is to be hoped for'. The polytheistic Pagans of Mecca were delighted when Muhammad delivered this passage because it was a chant recited by the Qurash tribe as they circled the Ka'aba while worshipping these three principle goddess of pre-Islamic Mecca. This compromise also caused some companions to doubt Mohammed and leave his fold.”
“The earliest authority on the life of Muhammad (Ibn Hisham) claimed that these words were uttered by Muhammad at the "instigation of Satan" and are considered to be the Satanic Verses. When Muhammad realized that his attempt to appease the pagan Meccans was causing his followers to leave, he quickly made a slight alteration and a major omission to this passage by dropping the sentence about the exalted maidens. To make matters worse, Gabriel allegedly came to Muhammad and denied that he had revealed the word to him. ('Sirat'ul Rasool' as revised by Ibn Hisham, (vs. 239), and Tabari pp. 1 192).”

MUHAMMAD AND THE SATANIC VERSES By Samuel Green
“None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things? Also translated as: Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?” Koran 2.106
This is the clause allowing Muhammad to issue contradictory pronouncements and get by with it. It essentially says, that If any of Muhammad’s suras (prophesies) can be shown to contradict a previously transcribed sura, then the previous one is rescinded and replaced with the new one. He seems to make it a great debating point that Islam is not allowed to modify its scripture (unlike Mosaic Law and Christian application of scripture to change with the times) without its prophet having substituted something. But what now? Muhammad was the last prophet. Thus, Islam is forbidden from changing even one iota. Trust me, this is not a good thing. But much to Judeo-Christianity’s advantage, it was never fundamental Judaism or Christianity that has been abrogated over time, rather only the ceremony, liturgy, and applications of their religious ethical positions to human institutions. This is why Jews and Christians are free to abolish slavery—even though both the Old and New Testaments do not declare slavery per se to be subject to abolition; but Islam cannot make this transition. (Muhammad owned many slaves and codified both the institution of slavery and the treatment of slaves…how can such a thing later be abrogated, when nothing is “substituted”?) And if slavery can be abolished, then so can polygamy, sharia, even Jihad itself. Then what is left of Islam, but a book of contemporaneously meaningless verses, and a slippery slope toward reckless, on-demand abrogation? Muhammad and the original scholars were much “smarter” than to allow that to happen, which is exactly why Islamic societies today cannot launch an effective defense against terrorism and tyranny. Change is verboten, and every Muslim knows this. So when you read the verses below, you will know that those who assured you Islam is a religion of peace are at the very least deceitful.
Nevertheless, in the unlikely event that an Islam-apologist can find contradictory passages, they would have to clearly substitute one commandment for another, which also must be written after the ones I cite below. Good luck with that.
The Koran, remember is ostensibly the “perfectly transcribed” result of the angel Gabriel speaking through the prophet who was in a trance-like state, claiming to reveal Allah’s wisdom and will. The revelations within the Koran and the Hadithic proclamations and inferences from Muhammad’s life are not suggestions or debate topics for believers. They must be totally embraced by Muslim followers. Moreover, it is immutable over time. Remember, Islam means submission (so does slavery). Try ripping one page from that book in front of a devoted Muslim male, aged 16 – 32 and see if he believes Islam to be subject to alteration or derision.
Facts 1 and 2 are a summary of a number of derogatory, provocative, intimidating, anti-infidel sentiments expressed by Muhammad through the Koran, which form the basis for Islam’s entire existence. It is important to know that Islam did not begin from a divergent stream of prophesy. Islam claims Abrahamic origins, and implies that it accepts the Old Testament prophets. But Muhammad made it clear that the Jews and the Christians perverted his notion of a “pure” predecessor religion to Judaism, what they see as the original proto-Jewish religion all along. So they retell stories and reinterpret events, and in doing so, contradict what is written in ancient codices like the Dead Sea Scrolls. So in every way, it looks like Islam is attempting to hijack, not just replace the prior religions of Judaism and Christianity. Yet it has no scriptural evidence of the existence of its revisionist propositions, just the word of one man, Muhammad. If this is true, it is self evident why Muhammad felt so compelled to repeatedly “trash” the predecessor religions…they were the competition so to speak.

Islam regards Judaism, Christianity, and the practitioners of those “elder” religions as absolute abominations to the Muslim god, Allah. Therefore, Jews and Christians are necessarily subject to distaste, distrust, and ill judgment.
Fact 2: Islam calls for a lack of respect for, lack of forgiveness of, and institutionalized intolerance towards Jews and Christians.
Therefore, Jews and Christians cannot be considered co-equals or “sinners”, but are to be understood as defilements to Allah and obstacles to Allah’s will, and thus subject to punishments and intervention from Muslim vanguards.
Islamic scripture as translated by accepted authorities appear below:
“Their prayer at the House (of Allah) is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands: (Its only answer can be), ‘Taste ye the penalty because ye blasphemed.’” Koran 8.035
Here is a great example of Islam defining itself as being in opposition to other disciplines (as opposed to defining itself by unique precepts). No argument to substance, merely ridicule of non-believers. Here is more “rationalization” perhaps to compensate for their rejection by Abraham. Like no other religion on earth, Islam is established as a form of antithesis. It is a creed based on contradiction, not provenance; so we would expect to find it loaded with disdainful comments about Christians and Jews. This institutionalized antipathy is absolutely unprecedented among the world’s other religions.
“Lo! the hypocrites say, and those in whose hearts is a disease: "These people,- their religion has misled them." But if any trust in Allah, behold! Allah is Exalted in might, Wise.” Koran 8.049
Once again, this religion continually defines itself by declaring what other religions believe to be wrong without ever identifying unique principles of theism that constitute their own doctrine. This is simple antagonism without a fundamental alternative. These types of verses are legion within the Koran. Muhammad was obsessed with scorn and divisiveness.
“For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe.” Koran 8.055
Here, the followers of other religions are not mere “sinners”; they are beasts. And we all know that beasts are to be subdued. You can see where this line of thinking goes. In fact, Muhammad was waging offensive wars of conquest at the time he proclaimed this. It’s a lot like those WW2 newsreels depicting Japanese as demons. But since when is a religion perverted to a mortal’s view of political propaganda?
“O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be harsh against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.” Koran 9.073
Why does Islam ask of their prophet (Muhammad) to strive against the unbelievers? Shouldn’t “God” be able to handle this on his own? Why does Allah need Muhammad’s help at all? Many references to non-Muslims going to hell are intermixed with invocations for Muhammad’s band of earthly enforcers to inflict earthly, corporal punishment. This sets the stage for much of the Islamic violence around the world. But it assures the reader that even ambiguous allusions to infidels being “beasts” and “despised” by Allah, are always to be interpreted as permission for the Muslim to take physical action.
Moreover, the verse refers to military campaigns of conquest, even admitting that most of the Arabian Peninsula was already vanquished and the remaining portions were weak and certainly unable to act in aggression. Muslim armies attacked and savagely murdered, plundered and enslaved large populations of Arabia. They advanced into the thinly protected Christian territories of what is now Jordan and Israel. Their victims often didn’t even have their own army… so much for Muhammad’s “defensive” rationale for war. For a “holy” man, he sure acted a lot like the other despots that we can be certain were not guided by spiritual enlightenment.
Notice too the words used in this verse: The prophet is told by Allah to make war, not on aggressors, but on unbelievers. The supreme Islamic being does not do the killing himself but commands the prophet to ‘send them to hell’ for him. Either Allah is not as powerful as he would have you believe, or if he is God, he enjoys recruiting believers to vanquish all other cultures.
“And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!” Koran 9.030
Once again, the mighty religion of Islam dwells on what it considers the faults of the established religions, by calling Jews and Christians hypocrites. You want to talk about hypocrisy? Why is it that a Muslim can so repeatedly and intensely disparage another’s religion, making it a central theme within their religion, institutionalizing their mockery and derision…yet they expect no retribution against them for their overt slander? Yet, when Muslims hear about one Koran being flushed down a toilet (which later turned out to have been accomplished by a Muslim!) expect no retribution? If an unbeliever insults Allah or Muhammad, the Muslim is expected to put a kill contract on the blasphemer. Can a hypocrite obtain integrity because he calls someone else a hypocrite? How can we not regard the entire religion of Islam to by a work of monumental hypocrisy?
“But because of their breach of their covenant (the Jews), We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.” Koran 5.013
The Koran is as obsessed with Jews, as it is derisory toward them. Hate is almost too dispassionate a word to describe the sentiment Muslims are taught. Jews are not taught corresponding revulsion. How does this make Islam a superior belief system?
“From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” Koran 5.014
In the very next verse, they start in on Christians. What part of “we estranged them with enmity and hatred” needs further analysis for the world to understand the nature of the cult we call Islam? We hate them because “they forgot a good part of the message”? I hate it when my secretary does that, too.
“Say: ‘O people of the Book! Do ye disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that hath come to us and that which came before (us), and (perhaps) that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?’” Koran 5.059
(When a sura begins with the word “say…”, as this one does, it is literally telling Muslims how to answer questions and accusations about their religious beliefs. It is simply a “FAQ”, in which the religion is so insecure of itself, that its holy book requires a rehearsal of answers to objections. Sadly however, this is not a sales pitch. The obsession becomes a banal, neurotic, compulsion to compare itself with its ancestral creeds, and proceed to trash them! So, to all Christians, I advise you to “say: Muhammad, the scab won’t heal if you keep scratching it.” It cannot be true that Muhammad does not know that Christians are forbidden from hating their fellow man, even those infected with evil. They are to hate the sin and love the sinner, a concept well understood 600 years before Muhammad’s time! That Muhammad is ignorant of this universally understood characteristic of Christianity means either he was not divinely inspired or he was intentionally deceiving his audience for a malicious purpose. You decide.
“Say: ‘Shall I point out to you something much worse than this (referring to the previous verses), as judged by the treatment it received from Allah? Those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!’” Koran 5.060
While many apologists for Islam attempt to cover up this set of verses, Islamic religious and political leaders repeatedly allude to this same portion of their scripture. Liberals and Muslim PR spinners deny the passages exist at all. The phrase, “Those who received the curse of Allah”, refers to Jews. The point of this verse is that Islam instructs its faithful to consider Jews, to be vile, degenerate beasts, hardly a foundation for positive interfaith relations.
Muslims, when they get particularly revved up over something, frequently allude to this verse. Why is this religion given any standing among the world’s other theologies? As Islam catalogs its hateful disrespect for other beliefs, none of which reciprocate, Islam provides the evidence to convict itself.
“Surely those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and (those who) desire to make a distinction between Allah and His messengers and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and desire to take a course between (this and) that.” Koran 4.150 Here, again Islam defines itself fundamentally by way of contrast with Judaism and Christianity, explaining that only Muhammad has the truth. Muhammad, the man who never had a really good original idea to attract converts, can only criticize those who practice differently.
“They are in truth (equally) unbelievers; and we have prepared for unbelievers a humiliating punishment.” Koran 4.014You and what army, Mo? Oh…that army! Now we begin to see Islam for what it is. Note this passage intentionally obscures the question of whether Muslims are commanded to take up the sword in order to meat out punishment and conversion, whether the preparation is for corporal or spiritual punishments, and whether the punishments are to be administered by Allah’s minions here on earth or in the afterlife. But we already know the answer to that question, since Muhammad led over seventy wars of unprovoked aggression and conquest against thinly defended neighbors!
“(They have incurred divine displeasure): In that they broke their covenant; that they rejected the signs of Allah; that they slew the Messengers in defiance of right; that they said, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word; We need no more)"- Nay, Allah hath set the seal on their hearts for their blasphemy, and little is it they believe;-“ Koran 4.155Here is more opposition without clarification. What is repulsive, is how Muhammad reproaches Jews for rejecting, sometimes killing their prophets in exactly the same way Muhammad kills anyone who stands in his way. This is a murderer calling his enemies murderers.
“That they rejected Faith (i.e. what Muslims take as Islam); that they uttered against Mary a grave false charge;” Koran 4.156
“That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-“ Koran 4.157
Classic Islamic antithesis: Here it fosters anti-Semitism, and at the same time taunts the very essence of Christianity by declaring Christ to be merely a messenger who was never crucified at all.
OK, fine, fine, fine, Muhammad, you are not fond of Christians and Jews. We get it, but how does this help you, a Muslim, become a better person…spiritually? So what if every other religion in the world is grossly in error!? How does that condition involve you and your relationship to your god? Can’t you just move on? Let go, Muhammad! Live and let live. Lead by example…stop whining. Goos-fraba!
“For the iniquity of the Jews We made unlawful for them certain (foods) good and wholesome which had been lawful for them;- in that they hindered many from Allah's Way;-“ Koran 4.160Note to Islam: Please stay out of God’s plans for the Jews (MYOB). It does not serve to advance Islam to continuously berate Jews. Dwelling on the perceived faults of others was clearly condemned by Christ…remember?
“We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.” Koran 4.163
Here Muslims claim all these prophets for themselves. Yet, fully aware that Jews were the original descendants who revered these messengers thousands of years before Muhammad was weened. Instead of Islam diverging as a denomination of Judaism or at least an amicable religion of dissent—from shared foundation, Muslims attempt a hostile takeover of the ancient Judaic prophesy.
“But to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards, and more, out of His bounty: But those who are disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a grievous penalty; Nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.” Koran 4.173
This is where the term “arrogant” comes from, and arrogant people are singled out as being condemned. We hear Islamists today declaring America, Britain, Israel and the Saudi family as being “arrogant” (ironically, never France). Often, this term is used to justify terrorist attacks. Just as their holy book never provides a specific definition of the term in relation to an offence against them, neither do those who toss the term around in describing the targets of their terrorism. If arrogance were a crime, few victims would be left.
“They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!" Koran 19.088
“Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!” Koran 19.089
“At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin;” Koran 19.090Is this just a metaphor, or are Muslims really, really, really angered about this essential Christian belief?
“That they should invoke a son for (Allah) Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son.” Koran 19.091
Here again, Islam can only define itself in contrast to established faiths, in this case Christians. Allah is apparently very upset that Christians got it all “wrong”. At this point only the most obtuse among us fail to comprehend the anti-Christian perspective of Islam, but why the constant harping about it. Incessant scriptural droning about the perceived faults of another doctrine is more a sign of a highly insecure prophet, than the holy words of a supreme God. It’s almost childish. Almost never are we treated to novel Islamic gospel…concepts that don’t involve insulting others.
“And how many cities, with more power than thy city which has driven thee out, have We destroyed (for their sins)? and there was none to aid them.” Koran 47.013So…..it’s ok to just go ahead and slaughter them because otherwise Allah has to destroy them? What are you saying, Muhammad?
“And those who believe say: ‘Why has not a chapter been revealed?’ But when a decisive chapter is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein you see those in whose hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. Woe to them then!” Koran 47.02Here we go again with Muhammad’s FAQ’s: This is an odd verse that seems to admit that Islam is proud of its heritage of violent warfare. Here’s what it means: Allah is telling Muhammad (through the angel Gabriel) to make sure the “true believers” know that when Muslims are critiqued about unrevealed prophesy in their scripture, Muslims will eventually be able to point to a chapter that confirms their prophesy, and thus will prove its divine nature. And, the next chapter discusses violent warfare against the non-Muslims, that will terrorize the bejezus out of them! Two questions for the skeptic: 1) does this sound holy and pure? 2) Do you really still believe “Jihad” is just an inner spiritual struggle?—how do you faint because of the death caused by an internal purification effort?
“Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (in conquest): for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds.” Koran 47.035Translation: Don’t be cowards, you pathetic little crybabies! Go out and conquer the infidels. Allah will make it up to you. Look how rapidly hate, derision, and slander can translate into murderous action. Do you still believe that the greater Jihad is inner struggle against vanity and sin? Where’s the citation for the “greater” Jihad, and how does it rescind the hate-spewing and war-mongering Muhammad apparently so enjoyed?
“As to those who reject Faith (Islam), it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur). In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).” Koran 2.01Translation: Don’t bother warning the non-converts; if they don’t get it, they’ll be severely punished. Remember, Allah has charged the Muslim with bringing the non-Muslim to death for a speedier judgment in the afterlife…they are, after all, diseased and their fate is sealed. Is this not shocking?
“They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word: we need no more)." Nay, Allah's curse is on them for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe.” Koran 2.088
More FAQ responses: mockery and antagonism toward Jews.
“And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognized, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith.” Koran 2.089
It’s all about opposition to another religion and chauvinism toward themselves, even as they fail to make distinctions about God’s law or message. There is nothing like this in world history.
“And they say: ‘None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful.’” Koran 2.111Once again, Muhammad issues talking points and official responses. Clearly this is a bizarre and unhealthy obsession. And this comparative/ antithetical nature is what most defines the provisions of the Koran…just argumentative, criticism, anti-Jewish and anti-Christian thematics! This verse particularly sounds like children arguing is a schoolyard. But where’s the beef?
“And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters.” Koran 2.135Excuse me? Abraham didn’t have a religion any more than Adam did. He had a contract. But isn’t this the central point of Islam? This counter-Judaic thinking is simply crypto-theft and reinterpretation of Jewish identity. No wonder these Islamic college boys have such trouble with their passports; they are culturally identity-challenged.
Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)." Koran 2.136If they take Christ as one of their prophets, you won’t find evidence of it in the Koran or in the behaviors of any Muslim throughout history. While the Messiah is occasionally mentioned, there is no confirmation of Muslim intent to interpret or adhere to Christian principles. Yet, in hundreds of lines of prophetic composition, Muhammad makes it clear that the ministry of Jesus is anathema to Islam. Moreover, Muslims have no excuse for their abandonment of the gospel. There is absolutely no way to misunderstand what Jesus was saying as he turned the world around with his message. No hot damn way! Even if Islamists do not believe Christ is Lord, how at the very least can they misunderstand his message?
“O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.” Koran 60.001Translation: In case you are a weenie and refuse to fight the infidels, or even if you have vanquished the non-believer, you can still never be friends with him. Does this sound more like Jesus or Satan to you? Conversely, Jesus instructed his flock to do exactly the opposite. Could the “learned” Muhammad not have known about Christ’s final commandment? This is just one more wedge driven by Islam between it and civilization.Apparently with a dash of abrogation and a pinch of righteous indignation, a Muslim becomes an insecure, judgmental hypocrite, yet is often no more than a self-justified, brutal thug.
“Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding?” Koran 3.065Here is more self-definition by way of ridiculing the opposition. Psychologists call this sort of process: “rationalization”, a process in which a neurotic constantly rehearses antipathy and reminds himself why his anger is justified. It is often a predisposition to preemptive action against the self-defined adversary, and is often accompanied by feelings of paranoia. (I am not really a psychoanalyst, but I did sleep at a Holy-day Inn once.)
“Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah's (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.” Koran 3.067Here’s the Islamic loophole in its defense against charges that it is usurping the legacy of Jews or Christians. We’re not theology thieves because we follow Abraham, and he wasn’t yet a Jew. It’s like saying Christ wasn’t a Christian. So what? You can read the entire Koran, and other than concluding the obvious that Muslims revile all other beliefs, you can’t obtain any positive spiritual contribution to the foundations of Judaism and Christianity. I ask you, dear Muslim, what religion was it that Abraham adhered to? What were its essential pillars? Did he pray to Mecca? Did he believe in the coming of Muhammad, and prepare a place for him?
“Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: And Allah is the Protector of those who have faith.” Koran 3.068Here Muslims reclaim their father. They abduct Abraham from Jewish tradition by saying: Well, he wasn’t really a Jew, and the Muslim is the better kin than the descendant anyway. This is the nastiest case of unilateral sibling rivalry the world has ever known. Then, they begin to sound like the mob…Allah protects only Muslims (from what? Islamic violence and terrorism?). This is the basis for a protection racket, not a religion.
“It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah's": on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly." Koran 3.079In this verse, Muslims assure us that Christ never asked to be worshipped, and is therefore not God but rather a mortal prophet, like Muhammad. (Good thing Jesus wasn’t a God, then, huh Muhammad. Otherwise you’d be in real trouble.) Where is this one-sided derision going to lead?
“O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom. Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, ‘We believe’: But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: ‘Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart.’” Koran 3.118Here, Allah, through Gabriel, tells the prophet Muhammad, that the non-believers are so obsessed with hate for them that they bite off the tips of their own fingers. Today, we call this kind of thinking “paranoid delusional”. How in the world could Muhammad know what is in the hearts of every Christian and Jew? And why are Muslims so infected with the hate they project onto others? One cartoon by one Dane, and the Islamic world wants to burn down the earth! Yes, Muhammad is teaching us all bout hate, isn’t he?
“Allah had helped you at (the battle of) Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah; thus May ye show your gratitude.” Koran 3.123
As demented as it sounds, this verse appears to belittle the Muslims by reminding the fearful Muslim that Allah did all the work for them in their revered battle of Badr. So now that you’re part of the force of Islam, you’ll have to fear Allah to show your gratitude. You’re part of Team Allah, and don’t you forget it.
“Let not the Unbelievers think that our respite to them is good for themselves: We grant them respite that they may grow in their iniquity: But they will have a shameful punishment.” Koran 3.178This is an important reminder to all non-Muslims worldwide that just because radical Islam subsides for an indefinite period, one should not expect it to surrender its single-minded desire to conquer the world through violent means.
“Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through the land deceive thee:” Koran 3.196Did Allah use the term “strut”? They even hate our strut? You can’t even strut without being hated?!
“How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous. How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked.” Koran 9.007Translation: even if we forged a treaty of peace with pagan civilizations, you are not to honor them (unless it was done near a sacred mosque???). Otherwise, there is no truce or treaty, because you can’t trust the pagans because they are rebellious.So now you know, pagans: Since Muslims are forbidden to trust you in an agreement or treaty, you obviously cannot trust them. They will always fall back on this passage for justification of breaking any agreement.
“And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!” Koran 9.030
More hate speech about other religions.
“They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).” Koran 9.031Let go, Muhammad; let go. I quote 10 million grandmothers: “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything.” How’s that for wisdom?
“Ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them; this is because they disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.” Koran 9.080Translation: So don’t even try to save them, Allah could care less. That’s odd, I distinctly remember Jesus asking God to “forgive them for they know not what they do”. Was Muhammad just cruelly ignorant, or was he lying about his belief in Jesus, the prophet of peace?
“It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire.” Koran 9.113 “Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.” Luke 11-2-4. Oh yes and “deliver us from evil”!
“And We gave (Clear) Warning to the Children of Israel in the Book, that twice would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance (and twice would they be punished)!” Koran 17.114Who’s “We”? Apparently if Allah already allowed other nations to inflict bloody punishment on the Jews for their contractual “dishonor” (twice), then it is like a rule: Just eliminate them.
“When the first of the warnings came to pass, We sent against you Our servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled.” Koran 17.005
But, you JUST…DIDN’T…GET IT! Remember. This is supposedly the angel of God, revealing to Muhammad that as in the past, when God sent storm-troopers to slaughter those who messed up, Allah wants Muhammad to consider his role in reshaping 7th century civilization. The color red was apparently in vogue. Muhammad was transmitting these messages at the same time he was leading juggernauts all throughout the Middle East! Does this not smack of fanatical, militarist propaganda a la Nazi-ism or Stalinism?
“If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.” Koran 17.007
I Done Told Ya’all Twice. (Best said in West Virginian accent). And again, one must ask…is Gabriel telling Muhammad that it is his turn to create violent upheaval?
“When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then (it is) We destroy them utterly.” Koran 17.016
Thanks for due process, Allah. They toss around the concept of depopulation as if it were unremarkable, page-2 news.
“Say: ‘Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!’” Koran 17.111Then I say, by the same logic, that if Allah is so strong, then he needs no army of Muslims to enforce his commandments either. Let Allah do the dirty work himself. Why is it that Islam is permitted to insult my religion by proclaiming that Christians are abominations to God, and that God sent no son, but I am not permitted to retaliate with criticism toward them without getting the whole Islamic world up in arms? Why are they so sensitive, and such hypocrites? Why is the right of free speech only awarded to those who desperately seek its destruction?
“But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.” Koran 5.013
Constant focus on other religions.
“From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” Koran 5.014
Obsessive focus on other religions.
“In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: ‘Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things.’” Koran 5.017
Bizarre, unprecedented, repetitive, psychotic, obsessive/ compulsive, fanatical focus on other religions.
“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter.” Koran 5.051
Oh yes and “Salaam”! The problem with this passage is that Islam established itself though warfare and conquest. Any opponent, regardless of how or why they fight, is at very best exiled. It appears that most of the defeated would be brutalized. Inasmuch as this is the perfect, unwavering, supreme law of their god, we might want to sneak a little more funding in our defense budget to guard against expectations of their fulfilling prophecy.
“O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.” Koran 5.051
More us vs. them stuff. Since this is all literal truth, do you expect the faithful Muslim to reciprocate any kindness we would show them?
“They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.” Koran 5.073
Just the kind of penalty Muslims are more than happy to meet out (as we shall see in later analyses)
“The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away!” Koran 5.075
Look, get over it, Muslims. Christians believe what they wish to believe. Their path is not yours. So what? Live and let live. Get a life! (No, I didn’t say take a life)
“Lo! We have given thee (O Muhammad) a signal victory,” Koran 48.001
I see now. Just as night follows day, Jihad is the application of--and the direct result of a scriptural commandment to hate infidels. When Allah predicts penalties, punishments, damnation, fire, execution, destruction of cities, death, and hell…he is simply telling Muslims what their job is and why they should not lament this atrocious task. When the Muslim wins in these wars for Allah’s honor, Allah assures them that he is giving them their victories (for Allah knoweth and ye do not)
“And (that) He may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, the entertainers of evil thoughts about Allah. On them is the evil turn, and Allah is wroth with them and has cursed them and prepared hell for them, and evil is the resort.” Koran” 48.006
This all sounds so childish. Were it not so serious, you would be tempted to say: “I know you are, but what am I.” Once again however, the pattern of thought is obvious: Allah demands Muslims to be victorious in utter extermination of non-Muslims, so that his punishments can be manifest. There is no distinction in the Islamic mind between murder and Divine punishment.
Based on this evidence that proves Islam is founded on hatred and an instigation to revile its neighbors and those who reject its edicts, in our next essay, we will examine scriptural evidence for Islam’s deeply-rooted need to wage bloody wars of aggression and terror against unbelievers in order to establish global theocracy.
